What now?
Since graduating in 2021, Lordan has worked in various roles within the arts: as a freelance photographer, artbook seller, art handler, and photography tutor, participating in outreach access programmes. They are currently pursuing a Masters in Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies to expand their artistic scope and work toward their long-term goal of becoming a lecturer in the arts.
Where?
After receiving their BA in Photography, Lordan’s graduate work, Come As You Are, was recognised nationally and internationally, including an exhibition in the Photo Saint Germain 2021 programme in Paris, where they were awarded as one of German gallerist Daniel Blau’s 3 Under 30.
Who?
Sarah Louise Lordan is a Visual Artist, working predominantly with lens-based media and the written word to create thought-provoking artworks. For Lordan, art-making is a way of processing conflicts within oneself and the world around them. Whether in relation to the notion of femininity, mental health, or religion, the intent when making new artworks is to inform the viewer of a lesser-known truth, refocusing their outlook on the subject matter at hand.
